I have lived in Minnesota for the past 4 years, and winter has been mild, to say the least. I figured I didn’t need to invest in a snow blower and up to the first week into February, I was right. And then, it decided to snow every other day.
While I was out heaving big scoops of wet snow, my wife thought it would be nice to go an order a snow blower online. When I got back in the house, she said I ordered you a snow blower, it’ll be here in two days.
I immediately thought if you can order it online, it must be cheap and worthless. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings, so I thought I could give it a try. I kindly asked her what the brand was and she replied it was snow joe ion18sb and it has really good reviews.
Two days later it shows up and right after it snowed four inches, so here are my thoughts.
My Snow Joe ion18sb Review
My honest opinion, I am impressed with this snow blower, I would recommend this, but please read my full review to understand the pros and cons.
The UPS man showed up carrying a large box, I grabbed it from him and walked it into the house. Weighing about 35 pounds, I could handle it without trouble.
I opened the box and I can see that it is 95% put together, the other 5% is 4 large hand twist screws, super easy to install.
The battery needs a charge, so I put that on the charger and let it charge. It took almost an hour to get a full charge.
This is the 18-inch snow blower, so it’s rather small. Using the handle, I picked up from the basement and walked it outside, I mention that because it was that easy.
Luckily I have about 4-inches of fresh snow, and I’m really itching to see if this thing works. My driveway is long with a 3-car garage wide at the top and narrow by the road. I also have a 12-foot sidewalk to the door.
